Powder Room In Progress

So although it ain't quite done yet, our downstairs powder room has come very very far!

It started off as a pink french mess...

and is slowly moving towards geometric cool.

So far we have done the following:
 - Removed wallpaper
- Removed and replaced light (including rewiring because whoever built this house didn't understand the value of junction boxes)
- Removed and replaced faucet
- Patched and re-painted the walls
- Repainted the vanity cabinet (twice, more on that below)
and last but not least:
- toiled through endless hours of stenciling

Before, isn't this wallpaper just wonderful?  I cannot believe we put up with it as long as we did.  Gold + Pink.

These lights should be outlawed.  Also, the electrician who installed them who also didn't feel like putting in junction boxes (all bathrooms are like this we've discovered).

Stripping of the wallpaper.  Took for omg-ever.
Until I started using the steam setting on my iron.  Then not quite as long.

After a fresh coat of paint, things are looking much better!  I'm sitting where the toilet will go.

3 hours later, why did I think this was a good idea again?

So originally I thought this green (Behr Caterpiller) would work really well.  After 3 coats we changed our mind.  To the grey!  (Behr Squirrel)

I've spent untold hours on this stencil.  Which I thought was a good idea at the time, and looks really awesome.

New Venetian Bronze faucet.  Matched to the upstairs ones (Pegasus @ HD)

Going to stop the stencil at the chair rail line.

Single bronze drop light (HD)

This color is much better.  Knobs from Hobby Lobby.

Still got some things to tick off the to-do list before it's done:

 - install shelves above the toilet
- add stained wood trim around the mirror
- repaint trim white
- accessorize

Maybe by December?
