More Big Girl Room

When we last left off, the Big Girl Room had been painted and we were talking about lighting.

Well after 3 hours of attaching capiz shell, this is the result.  It's pretty!  And it has the cutest little tinkling sound when the heat or A/C is on.

There is a little mismatch with the ceiling hole size from the previous light (see there on the right side where it looks dirty?) and we will need to patch that.

And the bed arrived!  And mattresses!  This mattress is so comfy.

Joss and Main was the go-to for the bed frame - it's upholstered on the bed rails and footboard too.  See it?

Love this nightstand.

It's a bit taller than a normal nightstand, but I love that it has lots and lots of room for books.  The girl already has a lot of books.

And the fabric.  Love.  LOVELOVELOVE.

Blue velvet.  I think she should be able to use this bed for a good long time.

I originally had my heart set on an older twin bed - either spindles or a mini poster that I would paint in this navy shade or something similar.

And then this came up for sale, and we thought it was an amazing price for full wood construction and made in the US.  Only $450 for a double.  I can see this Celeste using this bed into college and beyond.  And if not, it's a really nice guest bed neh?

Some accessories - hung and not hung:  a starburst mirror

One of her Christmas presents from Mom and Dad - a art print inspired by Hoth (since Mommy comes from the Frozen North)

We have had these castles longer than Celeste had been alive and gestating.  :)
We painted white and the turquoise shades that are already present in the room.

We will use command strips to hang art above the bed.

And fun little floating shelves for this corner for books and toys etc.

It's coming along, though not as quickly as I would have liked.  Still need to do curtains and accessorizing.  And need to find a dresser.
